Press Release: Leosphere moves into new advanced operations center near Paris
Paris, France April 2, 2019: Leosphere has moved into modern new premises that have been designed and built specifically to support its current and future development and production needs in Paris. At more than 4000 m2, the new operations center is completely managed and operated by Leosphere. It represents significant expansion for the company and marks the company’s commitment to meeting worldwide growth in customer demand.
Located 20 kilometers south of Paris, the new premises are at Plateau de Saclay, a science, community, and technology center close to major academic institutions including the Polytechnic School, Paris-Sud University. The area is attracting many major industrial, technology, and research organizations.
“These are exciting times for us,” said Alexandre Sauvage, CEO, Leosphere. “First and foremost, this building is a perfect location from which we can serve and host our customers, maintain their fleet of systems efficiently, train their teams, and organize scientific seminars. In addition, however, the 130 people we employ at this new base of operations are already benefiting from the ease of departmental interaction our facilities make possible, as well as from a comfortable work environment that has been designed to the latest ergonomic standards. As part of the Vaisala family, we will now, more than ever, be able to focus on strengthening our market position as the world’s largest manufacturer of LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) systems for atmospheric observation.”
“With this move, we have increased more than three fold our production capacity to more than 1,000 LiDAR systems a year so we can better serve our global customer base,” said Vincent Ginoux, Director, Industrial Division – Lidar Operations Management at Leosphere. “The plant is designed to utilize common manufacturing methodologies with significant levels of automation, better technical integration and production workflow, improved lead times, and reduced manufacturing costs.”
Leosphere’s new premises not only integrate all production processes but they also house the company’s R&D, administration, sales, service, and marketing operations. In addition, the new facilities contain state-of-the-art offices, meeting rooms, and a product demonstration area for training and client visits.
A formal inauguration event featuring tours of the facility as well as presentations from senior executives is scheduled for later this year.
